A Chicago writing duo. We write tv pilots, comics, and webcomics. We make pop culture references. Some of them stick.
Molly Jane Dubbel’s *not* OmniGirl, despite what her friends may think. Take Supergirl and mix in some Parent Trap with a dash of kidnapping and you’ve got the first issue. Oh, and waffles. And an evil puppy. AND a robot butler called Robot Jeeves. What else could you possibly want?!
Some teaser panels from “The Borely Reports”, a seven-page comic I illustrated that was written by Lauren Burke and Greg Sorkin for Skin Crawling Comics, a 180-page, color horror anthology comic book that draws inspiration from the spooky storytelling styles of classics like ‘Creepy,’ ‘Eerie,’ and ‘Tales from the Crypt.’ The book is designed with the creepy in mind and rejects the idea of “splatter porn” as a substitute for storytelling. This doesn’t mean we don’t get gruesome, just that we do so with a purpose.
We will be crowdfunding through Indiegogo until September 13, 2013, and we’ve quite a goal to reach so any help would be appreciated, if not through donations then reblogs to spread the word. Thanks for looking!
Greg and I were so pleased to work with the VERY talented Anissa Espinosa for Skin Crawling Comics. Please, please, please check out our IndieGoGo campaign. If we don’t get funded, then no one will see this very special book!
Last page of Not-So-Secret Origins, where P.I. Jane channels Batgirl. Also totally misses the fact that there is an intruder in her apartment. It happens.
Issue #2 will be available at Wizard World Chicago for a fiver!
